Indulgent patty melt with sirloin burgers, caramelized onions, and melty Cheddar.
Ingredients:
  • 1 pound ground sirloin
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced, or more to taste
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 medium onions, sliced
  • 4 slices Cheddar cheese
  • 4 teaspoons Dijon mustard
  • 8 slices rye bread, lightly toasted
Instructions:
  • Combine sirloin, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, salt, and pepper in a medium bowl, and hand mix until well combined. Shape the mixture into 4 hamburger patties and wrap them in plastic wrap. Refrigerate for 4 hours to overnight to allow the flavors to meld.
  • In a large skillet over medium heat, melt butter and olive oil until sizzling. Add onions and saute until caramelized, about 15 minutes, adjusting heat to medium-low as needed.
  • Heat a large skillet sprayed with cooking spray over medium heat. Cook hamburger patties for 3 minutes on each side, topping with a slice of Cheddar cheese after flipping.
  • Lay the patties on the toasted rye bread, then add warm onions, Dijon mustard, and finish with the remaining bread on top.
