Savory Greek-inspired wonton pouches filled with chicken, feta cheese, and tzatziki, then deep-fried to perfection.
Ingredients:
  • 3 skinless, boneless chicken breasts
  • 50 wonton wrappers
  • 3 (12 fluid ounce) bottles tzatziki sauce
  • 2 (8 ounce) packages feta cheese, crumbled
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • vegetable oil for frying
Instructions:
  • In a pot, submerge chicken breasts in water by 1 inch. Bring to a gentle boil, then lower the heat and simmer with the lid on until chicken is fully cooked, about 10 to 14 minutes. Confirm doneness by inserting an instant-read thermometer into the center - it should read at least 165°F (74°C).
  • Allow the chicken to drain and cool until it is easy to handle, about 5 to 10 minutes. Then, proceed to cut it into small cubes.
  • Blend chicken cubes until they are smooth and spoonable.
  • Place wonton wrappers on a flat surface. Generously spread 1 teaspoon of flavorful tzatziki sauce in the center of each wrapper. Add 1 teaspoon of chicken and 1 teaspoon of tangy feta cheese. Fold over and firmly seal the edges.
  • Combine the egg and water in a small bowl, then brush the mixture over the top of the wontons.
  • Preheat oil in a deep-fryer or large saucepan to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Fry wontons in batches until crispy and golden brown, approximately 2 minutes per batch. Remove and let drain on paper towels.
