French-inspired side dish - Buttered green beans with garlic, topped with toasted almonds for an elegant touch.
Ingredients:
  • 1 pound fresh green beans
  • 1.5 ounces slivered almonds
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced, or more to taste
  • salt and ground black pepper to taste
Instructions:
  • In a microwave-safe casserole dish, arrange beans in a single layer at the bottom. Add enough water to just cover the beans. Microwave on high power for 8 to 10 minutes until nearly tender. Drain in a colander and rinse under cold running water to maintain their vibrant green color.
  • Heat a frying pan over medium heat. Toast almonds until lightly golden, about 3 to 5 minutes, being careful not to burn them. Remove pan from heat, melt butter, then stir in garlic. Add green beans, season with salt and pepper, and stir until heated through, about 3 to 5 minutes.
