Creamy green pea sauce elevating mashed potatoes, pairs perfectly with steak. Opt for evaporated milk for a lighter, equally delicious option over cream.
Ingredients:
  • 1 medium onion, finely diced
  • 0.75 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 0.66666668653488 cup frozen peas
  • 0.66666668653488 cup vegetable broth
  • 0.5 (12 fluid ounce) can canned evaporated milk
  • salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
  • Heat the oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the onion and cook until almost tender. Add the garlic and cook until fragrant. Mix in the peas to thaw. Add the vegetable stock and evaporated milk. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 5 minutes. Blend the peas until smooth using a blender.
  • Return the smooth sauce to the skillet and season with salt and pepper to taste. Simmer gently until the sauce thickens to your liking.
