Delightful green tomato pie - a surprising twist on classic apple pie that will leave your guests craving more!
Ingredients:
  • 5 medium green tomatoes, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons cider vinegar
  • 1.5 cups white sugar
  • 0.25 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1 (14 ounce) package double-crust pie pastry, thawed
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Mix together ripe tomatoes and tangy vinegar in a spacious bowl.
  • Combine sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, and cloves in a medium bowl. Sprinkle the mixture over tomatoes and toss until evenly coated.
  • Line a 9-inch pie pan with one pie pastry. Pour in the tomato mixture. Cut the second pie pastry into strips and create a crisscross lattice over the filling.
  • Bake in the oven until bubbly with a golden brown crust, about 30-35 minutes.
