Quick and delicious open-faced burgers with garlic-buttered bread and tangy blue cheese.
Ingredients:
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup butter or margarine
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 3 lb lean (at least 85%) ground beef
  • 2 tablespoons Montreal steak grill seasoning
  • 1 cup blue cheese crumbles (4 oz)
  • 8 diagonal slices (1 inch thick) French bread
  • 2 cups loosely packed baby salad greens
Instructions:
  • In an 8-inch skillet, gently sauté garlic in butter over low heat for 2 to 3 minutes until tender. Add Worcestershire sauce, then take off the heat.
  • Preheat gas or charcoal grill. Combine beef and grill seasoning in a large bowl. Form the mixture into 8 oval patties, each 1/2 inch thick.
  • Grill the patties over medium heat with the lid on for 10 to 12 minutes, flipping once, until the meat thermometer reads 160°F in the center. Transfer the patties to a platter and add cheese on top. Then, grill the bread with the lid on for 2 to 4 minutes, flipping once, until it's lightly toasted.
  • Spread toasted bread slices with flavorful butter mixture, and layer with vibrant salad greens and delicious burgers.
