Grilled Maple Sausage and Butternut Squash Foil Packs

Grilled sausage and vegetable packets with zesty citrus glaze.
Ingredients:
  • 1 pound fully cooked kielbasa or Polish sausage, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 small butternut squash, peeled and cut into 1-inch chunks
  • 1 small bell pepper (any color), cut into strips
  • 1/2 cup 1/2-inch pieces green onions
  • 1/4 cup maple-flavored syrup
  • 1/4 cup orange juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions:
  • Preheat grill for direct heat. Cut four large sheets of heavy-duty aluminum foil, arrange sausage, squash, bell pepper, and onions on each sheet.
  • Combine syrup, orange juice, and salt in a small bowl. Pour the mixture over the sausage on the foil sheets. Fold the foil over the sausage so the edges meet, then seal the edges tightly with a 1/2-inch fold, folding again for a secure seal while leaving room for circulation and expansion.
  • Grill the packets over medium heat, covered, for 35 to 40 minutes until the sausage is heated through and the squash is tender. Serve by placing the packets on plates and unfolding the foil.
