Elevate dinner with a flavorful marinated flank steak. Combine soy sauce, honey, garlic, and pepper for a go-to grilled recipe.
Ingredients:
  • Marinade Ingredients
  • 1/3 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoon red wine vinegar
  • 1/3 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • Other ingredients
  • 2 pounds flank steak
Instructions:
  • Prepare the steak marinade by mixing the ingredients in a large non-reactive bowl. Ensure the steak is fully coated by turning it in the marinade. For easier cleanup, place the steak and marinade in a plastic freezer bag within a bowl. Refrigerate and marinate for at least 2 hours or overnight.
  • Preheat your grill: Preheat the grill for high, direct heat with one side set up for lower, indirect heat. Test if the grill is hot enough by holding your hand about an inch over the hot side; you should only be able to keep it there for about a second.
  • Grill the steak: Remove the steak from the marinade, making sure it's lightly coated. Season generously with salt and pepper. Grill over high heat for a minute on each side for a good sear, then move to a cooler spot. Cover and cook to your desired doneness. Use the finger test or a meat thermometer for accuracy: 120-125°F for rare, 130-140°F for medium rare, and 145°F for medium.
  • Let the steak rest: After grilling to your desired level, transfer the steak to a cutting board and tent it with aluminum foil to lock in the heat. Allow the steak to rest for 10 to 15 minutes before slicing.
  • Slice across the grain of the flank steak at a steep diagonal angle to break up the muscle fibers. Use a long serrated bread knife or any sharp knife for this. Enjoy with boiled excess marinade, salsa, or horseradish sauce. Don't forget to rate and review the recipe!
