Elevate your burger with sweet and smoky grilled onions for the ultimate burger experience.
Ingredients:
  • 2 medium sweet onions
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon kosher salt, sprinkled across the onions
Instructions:
  • Slice onions into thick, 1/2 inch rings, keeping the rings intact.
  • Skewer onions: Thread onion slices onto two skewers, ensuring they are evenly spaced about one inch apart. Press the skewers through the center of the onion slices while keeping them flat on the cutting board.
  • Coat onion slices in olive oil and sprinkle with salt for even seasoning.
  • Heat up the grill: Preheat the grill to medium heat, between 350°F to 450°F.
  • Char the onions on the grill until they are blackened and seared by the grates, about 8 to 10 minutes, flipping them once halfway through.
  • Presentation: Gently slide the golden onion rings off the skewers onto a serving plate for an elegant presentation.
