Juicy grilled sirloin tri-tip marinated in tangy balsamic marinade.
Ingredients:
  • 0.5 cup good quality balsamic vinaigrette dressing
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce
  • 0.5 medium lime, juiced
  • oil for the grill
  • 1.5 pounds sirloin tri tip
Instructions:
  • In a gallon-size resealable plastic bag, mix balsamic vinaigrette, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, lime juice, and pepper. Seal the bag, remove excess air, and gently squeeze to combine.
  • Coat tri-tip with the well-mixed marinade ensuring all sides are covered. Remove air, seal bag, and refrigerate for at least 8 hours, turning occasionally.
  • Preheat your outdoor gas grill to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C) following the manufacturer's guidelines, ensuring the grill grates are spotless. Dab a paper towel in cooking oil and gently oil the grate using tongs.
  • Start by laying the tri-tip on the oiled grate and grilling with the lid closed for 3 minutes. Then use tongs or a meat fork to turn the meat a quarter-turn, grill with the lid closed for another 3 minutes. Flip the meat over and repeat the process.
  • After turning off one burner, transfer the tri-tip to the cooler side of the grill. Close the lid and cook for 5 to 6 minutes, adjusting the time based on the thickness of the meat.
  • Use an instant-read thermometer to check the meat's temperature in the thickest part. Keep cooking until you reach your preferred level of doneness, as noted below.
  • Transfer the grilled meat to a cutting board and cover loosely with foil. Let it rest for 10 minutes to allow the residual heat to finish cooking the meat.
  • Slice the meat thinly against the grain and serve.
