Grilled sirloin steak kabobs marinated in a sweet soy-garlic sauce with veggies and pineapple.
Ingredients:
  • 0.25 cup soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons light brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons distilled white vinegar
  • 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon seasoned salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon garlic pepper seasoning
  • 4 fluid ounces lemon-lime flavored carbonated beverage
  • 2 pounds beef sirloin steak, cut into 1 1/2 inch cubes
  • 2 green bell peppers, cut into 2 inch pieces

  • 0.5 pound fresh mushrooms, stems removed
  • 1 pint cherry tomatoes
  • 1 fresh pineapple - peeled, cored and cubed
Instructions:
  • Combine soy sauce, light brown sugar, distilled white vinegar, garlic powder, seasoned salt, garlic pepper seasoning, and lemon-lime soda in a bowl. Set aside 1/2 cup for basting. Place steak cubes in a large resealable plastic bag, pour in the rest of the marinade, and seal. Chill in the fridge for 8 hours or overnight.
  • 1. Bring a saucepan of water to a boil. Quickly blanch green peppers for 1 minute. Drain and set aside.
  • Heat the grill on high. Skewer the steak, green peppers, mushrooms, tomatoes, and pineapple in an alternating pattern. Dispose of the marinade and bag.
  • Prepare the grill by lightly oiling the grate. Grill the kabobs for 10 minutes, or until cooked to your liking. Remember to baste them often with the reserved marinade during the last 5 minutes of grilling.
