Grilled Strip Steaks with Balsamic Onions

Elegant dinner for 4 ready in 30 minutes!
Ingredients:
  • 1 medium red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup balsamic vinaigrette dressing
  • 1 cup sliced fresh mushrooms
  • 4 beef boneless top loin (New York strip) steaks, about 1/2 inch thick (6 oz each)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic pepper blend
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
Instructions:
  • Preheat a medium-sized contact grill for 5 minutes. In a medium bowl, coat onions with dressing. Using tongs, transfer onions to the grill, reserving the dressing in the bowl. Close the grill and cook for 4 minutes.
  • Toss mushrooms in dressing in a bowl, then grill them with onions until tender, about 2 to 4 minutes. Remove from grill and cover to keep warm.
  • Coat beef steaks generously with the flavorful dressing. Season both sides with a blend of salt, chili powder, garlic pepper, and cumin. Grill the steaks to your liking, 3 to 5 minutes. Serve with a side of grilled onions and mushrooms.
