Elevate chicken with a flavorful marinade for a mouthwatering twist.
Ingredients:
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup dry sherry or orange juice
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons grated gingerroot or 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 8 bone-in chicken breast halves (about 3 pounds)
Instructions:
  • Combine all Teriyaki Marinade ingredients in a shallow glass or plastic dish or a heavy-duty resealable food-storage plastic bag.
  • Place the chicken in the marinade, ensuring each piece is fully coated. Cover the dish or seal the bag and refrigerate for a minimum of 1 hour, making sure to turn the chicken occasionally. Refrigerate for up to 24 hours, but no longer.
  • Preheat grill for direct heat. Take chicken out of marinade and set marinade aside. Grill chicken with skin side up, 5 to 6 inches from medium heat for 15 minutes. Flip chicken over and grill for an additional 10 to 20 minutes, turning and basting with marinade 2 to 3 times until chicken is cooked through. Dispose of any leftover marinade.
