Grilled tuna with lime and wasabi butter sauce

Delicious Asian-inspired tuna steak salad bursting with flavor and freshness.
Ingredients:
  • 40g (1/4 cup) sesame seeds
  • 1 x 125g pkt baby corn, cut in half lengthways
  • 100g snow peas, ends trimmed, thinly sliced lengthways
  • 1 x 250g punnet qukes (Perfection Fresh brand), thinly sliced lengthways
  • 4 (about 180g each, 2.5cm thick) tuna steaks
  • Salt
  • 80ml (1/3 cup) fresh lime juice
  • 120g butter, cubed
  • 3 tsp wasabi paste
Instructions:
  • Heat a chargrill over medium-high heat. Toast sesame seeds in a small non-stick pan over medium heat, stirring occasionally, for 2 minutes until golden brown. Then, remove from heat and set aside.
  • Simmer corn in boiling water for 3 minutes or until tender. Then, add snow peas and take off the heat. Rinse under cold water, drain, and combine in a bowl with qukes. Mix well.
  • Coat the tuna steaks with oil, sprinkle with salt, and grill for 2 minutes on each side, or to your desired doneness. Remove from grill.
  • In a saucepan over low heat, warm lime juice. Gradually add cubed butter, whisking until fully melted and combined before adding more. Once all the butter is mixed in, take off the heat and stir in wasabi paste. Season with salt to taste.
  • Serve cucumber salad on plates, drizzle with lime and wasabi butter sauce, top with tuna, drizzle with more lime and wasabi butter sauce, sprinkle with sesame seeds, and serve promptly.
