Savory ground beef and rice casserole, easy to make and full of delicious flavors.
Ingredients:
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 medium green bell pepper, diced
  • 1 medium tomato, chopped
  • 4 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 (28 ounce) can diced tomatoes, undrained
  • 1 tablespoon minced onion
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 2 cups cooked rice
  • 0.5 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) for the perfect cooking temperature.
  • Preheat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Brown and crumble ground beef for 5-7 minutes. Add bell pepper, tomato, and Worcestershire sauce. Cook until pepper slightly softens. Strain 1/2 of the liquid from canned diced tomatoes into the mixture.
  • Combine diced tomatoes, onion, garlic, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper with the ground beef. Simmer for 10 minutes until some liquid has reduced. Mix in the rice, then transfer to a casserole dish and sprinkle with Cheddar cheese.
  • Bake in the oven until the filling is heated through and the cheese is melted, approximately 45 minutes.
