French bread slices soaked in zesty orange juice, rich cream, and aromatic spices.
Ingredients:
  • 1 French baguette
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • 0.5 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 dash ground nutmeg
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons confectioners' sugar for dusting
Instructions:
  • Trim the ends of the loaf and save for later. Slice the remaining loaf into 1 1/2-inch slices and allow to rest for 4 hours or overnight.
  • In a 9x13 inch baking pan, mix orange juice, cream, eggs, ground cinnamon, and white sugar. Add bread slices and let soak for about 5 minutes until liquid is absorbed.
  • Heat butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Cook bread slices until golden brown on both sides, approximately 5 minutes. Dust with confectioners' sugar and enjoy while warm.
