Greek halloumi saganaki: Pan-fried halloumi with lemon, oregano - a zesty, salty treat.
Ingredients:
  • 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1 (8.8 ounce) package halloumi cheese, cut into 8 slices
  • 1 large lemon, juiced, or more to taste
  • 2 pinches dried oregano
Instructions:
  • In a spacious skillet, warm up the olive oil over medium heat to accommodate all the halloumi slices.
  • Heat the oil until it shimmers, then add the halloumi. Sear until golden and crispy on one side, approximately 4 minutes. Flip and cook the other side until equally golden, about 3 minutes. Drizzle with lemon juice and simmer briefly.
  • Remove the dish from the heat and generously sprinkle oregano over the top before serving while piping hot.
