Elevate your Halloween chocolate chip cookies by transforming the chips into adorable spider decorations with melted chocolate.
Ingredients:
  • 2.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • 0.75 cup white sugar
  • 0.75 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2.5 cups semisweet chocolate chips, divided
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to a toasty 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • In a large bowl, mix together flour, baking soda, salt, and baking powder using a fork until well combined.
  • In a large bowl, cream together butter, white sugar, and brown sugar until smooth and creamy using an electric mixer. Mix in eggs and vanilla extract until fluffy. Gradually add flour mixture and mix well with a spatula. Gently fold in 1 1/2 cups of chocolate chips until combined.
  • Place dollops of cookie dough onto baking sheets. In a bowl, add 1/2 cup of chocolate chips. Press 3 to 4 chocolate chips tip-side down onto each cookie to create spider bodies.
  • Bake in a preheated oven until edges turn golden, for 10 to 15 minutes. Allow to cool on the baking sheet for 1 minute before transferring to a wire rack.
  • Melt the remaining 1/2 cup of chocolate in a microwave-safe glass or ceramic bowl in 15-second intervals, stirring each time, for 1 to 3 minutes. Transfer the melted chocolate into a piping bag with a small tip and use it to draw legs on each side of the spider bodies to make spider legs.
