Irresistible spider cupcakes perfect for Halloween or kids' parties.
Ingredients:
  • 340g packet golden buttercake cake mix
  • 60g butter, softened
  • 193.13 gm milk
  • 180g packet Smarties lollies
  • 190.00 gm dark chocolate melts
  • 250g unsalted butter, softened
  • 375.00 gm icing sugar mixture
  • Yellow food colouring
  • Green food colouring
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 180°C/160°C fan-forced and line a 12-hole, 1/3 cup capacity muffin pan with paper cases.
  • Prepare delicious cupcakes by following the instructions on the packet. Fill cupcake cases three-quarters full with the mixture. Bake for 25 minutes or until a skewer inserted into a cupcake comes out clean. Then, transfer them onto a wire rack to cool completely.
  • In a bowl, use an electric mixer to beat the butter until pale. Gradually add the icing sugar mixture while beating constantly until well combined. Mix in food coloring to tint lime green.
  • Top cupcakes with icing and press 3 Smarties onto each for spider bodies. Place chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl and microwave on medium (50%) for 2 minutes 30 seconds, stirring every 30 seconds with a metal spoon until melted and smooth. Transfer melted chocolate into a snap-lock bag, snip a small hole in one corner, and pipe chocolate around Smarties to create spider legs and eyes. Allow to set for 10 minutes before serving.
