Halloween Peanut Butter Brookie Bars

Treat the kids to spooky Halloween Peanut Butter Brookie Bars: a candy-packed peanut butter cookie layer on top of a rich fudgy brownie base.
Ingredients:
  • 1 box Betty Crocker™ Fudge Brownie Mix
  • 1 pouch (17.5 oz) Betty Crocker™ Peanut Butter Cookie Mix
  • Vegetable oil, water and eggs called for on both the brownie box and cookie mix pouch
  • 3/4 cup REESE’S PIECES peanut butter candy in a crunchy shell, divided
  • 3/4 cup REESE’S Peanut Butter Chips
  • 1 tablespoon Betty Crocker™ Candy Shop Candy Eyeballs
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a 13x9-inch pan with cooking spray or line with aluminum foil, ensuring it covers the sides as well.
  • Combine the fudge brownie mix, oil, water, and egg in a large bowl, whisk until smooth. Transfer the mixture to the prepared pan, and use a spatula to spread it evenly.
  • Combine cookie mix, oil, water, and egg in a large bowl until a soft dough forms. Stir in 1/2 cup REESE'S PIECES peanut butter candy and 3/4 cup peanut butter chips.
  • Take large handfuls of the peanut butter cookie dough mix and flatten them in your hands before gently placing them over the brownie batter in the pan. Continue until the brownie batter is mostly covered, it's okay if it's not perfect. Sprinkle the remaining 1/4 cup of REESE'S™ PIECES™ peanut butter candy on top.
  • Bake for 30-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in a few spots comes out mostly clean and the peanut butter cookie layer is light golden brown. Quickly place candy eyeballs randomly over the top and gently press into the dough. Cool completely on a wire rack for about 1 hour. Cut into 6 rows by 4 rows before storing in an airtight container.
