Gourmet mac and cheese with ham strips, Colby cheese sauce, and Parmesan topping.
Ingredients:
  • 1 (8 ounce) package bow tie pasta
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 0.25 cup all-purpose flour
  • 0.125 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2.5 cups shredded Colby cheese
  • 0.5 teaspoon prepared mustard
  • 4 ounces cooked ham, julienned
  • 0.25 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • 1. Boil a pot of lightly salted water. Add bow tie pasta and cook until al dente, about 8 to 10 minutes. Drain pasta.
  • In a large saucepan over medium heat, melt butter. Add garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant. Whisk in flour, salt, and pepper, cooking until smooth and fragrant for 1 to 2 minutes. Gradually whisk in milk, bring to a boil, and cook for 1 minute. Stir in Colby cheese and mustard until melted. Remove from heat, add pasta and ham, then transfer to a 2-quart baking dish. Sprinkle Parmesan on top before baking.
  • Bake until the top is bubbling and beautifully golden, about 20-25 minutes in the preheated oven.
