Savory ham and cheese casserole topped with crunchy cornflakes.
Ingredients:
  • 18 (1 ounce) slices white bread, cubed
  • 8 ounces cooked ham, cubed
  • 2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 1.5 cups diced Swiss cheese
  • 6 eggs
  • 3.5 cups milk
  • 0.5 teaspoon onion powder
  • 2 cups crushed cornflakes cereal
  • 0.5 cup butter, melted
Instructions:
  • Grease the 9x13-inch baking dish with a touch of oil.
  • Place half of the bread cubes at the base of the baking dish. Layer with ham, Cheddar cheese, and Swiss cheese, then top with the remaining bread cubes.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, and onion powder. Evenly pour the mixture over the bread. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) for optimal baking temperature.
  • Combine crushed cornflakes with melted butter in a small bowl, then evenly spread over the casserole.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 40 minutes until bubbly and golden brown. Allow it to rest for 5 minutes before serving.
