Bake a cozy casserole with croissants, ham, cheese, and eggs for a simple and delicious breakfast or brunch option.
Ingredients:
  • 3 large croissants (5 inches)
  • 1 package (8 oz) chopped cooked ham
  • 1 1/4 cups shredded Swiss cheese (5 oz)
  • 6 eggs
  • 1 cup half-and-half
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon ground mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg, if desired
Instructions:
  • Prepare a 10-inch glass deep-dish pie plate by spraying it with cooking spray. Then, cut croissants in half lengthwise and then each half into 5 pieces. Arrange the pieces in the pie plate and top with ham and cheese.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, half-and-half, honey, mustard, salt, pepper, and nutmeg until smooth and well combined.
  • Pour the luscious egg mixture over the ingredients in the pie plate, ensuring every croissant piece is fully moistened. Cover tightly with foil and let the flavors mingle in the fridge for at least 8 hours, but not more than 24 hours.
  • Preheat oven to 325°F. Bake the covered casserole for 35 minutes, then uncover and bake for an additional 25 to 30 minutes until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean. Allow it to stand for 10 minutes before serving.
