Ingredients:
  • 25g (½ cup) panko breadcrumbs
  • 80ml (1/3 cup) milk
  • 500g beef mince
  • 40.80 gm Beef Style Stock Powder
  • Steamed white rice to serve
  • Mixed salad, to serve
  • ½ small brown onion, finely chopped
  • 60ml (¼ cup) red wine
  • 60ml (¼ cup) Worcestershire sauce
  • 60ml (¼ cup) tomato ketchup
  • 2.25 gm white sugar
Instructions:
  • In a large bowl, mix breadcrumbs and milk together and let it sit for 5 minutes until the milk is absorbed. Add minced meat, egg, garlic, and stock powder. Season with pepper. Use your hands to thoroughly combine the ingredients. Shape into 4 patties, making an indent in the center of each. Place on a plate and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  • In a large frying pan over medium-high heat, sizzle patties until golden brown and cooked through, about 4-5 minutes per side. Place on a plate and loosely cover to keep them warm.
  • In the same pan, cook onions over low heat for 10 mins until softened, stirring occasionally. Raise heat to medium-high, add wine, and cook for 1 min until reduced by half. Mix in stock powder, sauce, ketchup, ¼ cup water, and sugar. Bring to a boil while stirring constantly. Simmer for 5 mins until slightly thickened. Remove from heat, stir in butter, and season with pepper.
  • Plate the patties on a bed of fluffy rice, accompanied by a fresh salad, and generously drizzle the patties with savory gravy.
