Elevate classic chicken wings with zesty lemon-pepper seasoning and flavorful smoky harissa for a truly extraordinary dish!
Ingredients:
  • 2 tablespoons lemon-pepper seasoning
  • 0.5 cup harissa paste, divided
  • 1 pound chicken wing pieces, drumettes and flats
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon finely grated fresh lemon zest
Instructions:
  • In a bowl, combine lemon-pepper seasoning and 1 tablespoon harissa paste. Pat the wings dry, place them in a resealable plastic bag, then add the seasoning mix. Seal the bag, shake well to coat the wings evenly, and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Take the chicken wings out of the refrigerator and let them sit at room temperature while you preheat the oven.
  • Combine the remaining harissa paste and honey in a small bowl, whisking until fully blended.
  • Arrange the wings, skin-side up, on the baking sheet with space between each wing. Brush the uncovered sides with the flavorful harissa-honey sauce.
  • Place the wings in the preheated oven and bake for 15 minutes. Then, turn each wing, baste with the remaining sauce, and continue baking until the wings are fully cooked and reach an internal temperature of 165 degrees F (74 degrees C), about 10 to 15 minutes more.
  • Position oven rack 6 inches from heat source and preheat broiler. Broil wings for 1 to 2 minutes until crispy. Garnish with fresh lemon zest before serving.
