Harissa hummus pots

Enhance homemade hummus with a touch of spicy harissa.
Ingredients:
  • 18.20 gm olive oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, chopped
  • 2.50 gm ground cumin
  • 1/2 tsp ground coriander
  • 0.63 gm ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp harissa (see Notes)
  • 44.40 gm tomato paste
  • 2 x 400g cans chickpeas, rinsed, drained
  • 140g yoghurt
  • 31.50 gm lemon juice
  • Crudites, to serve
  • Toasted flatbread, to serve
Instructions:
  • - Heat oil in a frypan over medium heat until shimmering. - Sauté onion for 3-4 minutes until soft and translucent while stirring. - Add garlic, spices, harissa, and tomato paste; cook for 30 seconds until aromatic. - Mix in chickpeas until well combined.
  • Combine the mixture in a food processor with yogurt and lemon juice, process until a coarse paste forms. Spoon the hummus into small jars or ramekins. Serve with vegetable crudites and toasted flatbread.
