Irresistible school lunch-box scrolls.
Ingredients:
  • 300.00 gm self-raising flour
  • 30g butter, chilled, chopped
  • 193.13 gm milk
  • 69.38 gm tomato paste
  • 125.00 ml grated tasty cheese
  • 100g shaved ham, chopped
  • 225g can pineapple pieces, drained
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 200°C. Line a baking tray with parchment paper. In a large bowl, sift the flour and add the butter. Use your fingertips to rub the flour into the butter until it resembles fine breadcrumbs. Create a well in the center.
  • Mix milk into the flour mixture until a soft dough forms using a knife.
  • Flatten dough into a 20cm x 30cm rectangle between two sheets of baking paper. Leave a 3cm border along one long end and spread tomato paste over the dough. Layer on cheese, ham, and pineapple.
  • Roll the dough tightly from one end to create a beautiful Swiss roll. Place it on a board with the seam side facing down and cut it into 12 rounds.
  • Arrange the scrolls closely together, cut side up, on the prepared tray. Bake for 15 minutes or until they are golden and fully cooked. Let them cool for 5 minutes on the trays before serving.
