Elevate summer BBQ burgers with Worcestershire sauce, bell peppers, and flavorful seasonings, topped with gooey American cheese.
Ingredients:
  • 1 1/2 lb lean (at least 80%) ground beef
  • 1/3 cup finely chopped onion (1 small)
  • 1/3 cup finely chopped green bell pepper
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon seasoned salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 6 slices (1 oz) American cheese
  • 6 burger buns, split
  • 1/4 cup sandwich spread (from 16-oz jar)
  • Red onion slices, if desired
Instructions:
  • Preheat your grill over high heat. Combine ground beef, onion, bell pepper, Worcestershire sauce, seasoned salt, garlic powder, and pepper in a bowl until fully combined. Shape the mixture into 6 patties that are 1/2 inch thick.
  • Grill the patties covered over a medium heat for 13 to 15 minutes, turning once, until the meat thermometer reads 160°F when inserted in the center. Toast the buns by placing the cut sides down on the grill for the last 1 to 2 minutes of cooking. Top each patty with a slice of cheese and cook until it melts.
  • Spread the toasted buns with sandwich spread, layer with onion slices, and then add the cheese-topped patties before assembling the burgers.
