Decadent and timeless, this no-bake chocolate treat is a snap to whip up.
Ingredients:
  • 200g Marie Biscuits
  • 200g walnuts, coarsely chopped
  • 125g butter
  • 215g (1 cup) caster sugar
  • 1 egg, lightly whisked
  • 10.00 gm cocoa powder
  • 300g (2 cups) pure icing sugar, sifted
  • 50g (1/2 cup) cocoa powder
  • 60ml (1/4 cup) hot water
Instructions:
  • Prepare a 16 x 26cm slice pan by lining it with overhanging baking paper. Crush the biscuits in a sealed bag using a rolling pin until they are in 1cm pieces, then transfer to a bowl and mix in the walnuts.
  • In a saucepan, gently warm the butter and sugar until smooth, stirring for 5 minutes. Take off the heat. Combine well by stirring in the egg, followed by the cocoa and vanilla.
  • Drizzle the decadent chocolate mixture onto the biscuit blend, stirring until perfectly mixed. Transfer the delightful mixture into the prepared pan. Press down firmly using the back of a spoon. Chill in the fridge for 2 hours or until set.
  • For the icing, combine icing sugar, cocoa, and hot water in a saucepan over low heat until melted. Stir constantly for 2 minutes until glossy. Pour over the slice and chill in the fridge for 1 hour to set. Cut into squares or rectangles before serving.
