Whip up a quick and delicious steak sandwich using clever shortcuts for a speedy dinner.
Ingredients:
  • 36.40 gm olive oil
  • 20.00 ml Italian herbs paste (see note 1)
  • 20.00 ml chunky garlic paste
  • 450g beef steak
  • 8 slices traditional bruschettina bread (see note 2)
  • Olive oil cooking spray
  • 8 small butter lettuce leaves
  • 2 vine-ripened tomatoes, sliced
  • 200g tub beetroot dip
Instructions:
  • In a shallow glass or ceramic dish, mix together the oil, herbs, garlic, salt, and pepper.
  • Coat steaks in the pan and sear over medium-high heat for 2 minutes per side for your desired doneness. Transfer to a plate and cover to keep warm.
  • Preheat grill to high. Lightly coat one side of each bread slice with oil. Arrange on a baking tray, oiled side up. Grill bread for 2 minutes or until golden brown. Place two slices of toasted bread on each plate, slightly overlapping. Add lettuce, tomato, and steaks on top. Serve with a spoonful of beetroot dip.
