Herbed pilaf with crunchy nuts for a delightful flavor sensation.
Ingredients:
  • 36.40 gm olive oil
  • 1 brown onion, finely chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 300.00 gm Basmati rice
  • 637.50 gm salt reduced chicken style liquid stock
  • 82.50 ml finely chopped fresh flat-leaf parsley leaves
  • 20.00 ml finely chopped fresh chives
  • 1 lemon
  • 62.50 ml slivered almonds, toasted
Instructions:
  • In a saucepan, heat oil over medium-high heat. Sauté onion and garlic for 3 to 4 minutes until onion softens. Add rice and stir to coat. Pour in stock and bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 12 to 15 minutes until rice is tender. Zest lemon using a citrus zester. Mix in parsley, chives, lemon zest, and almonds with the rice. Stir well and serve.
