Indulgent Hershey cookie bars elevate dessert with gooey candy bars nestled in buttery cookie dough.
Ingredients:
  • 2.25 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup butter, room temperature
  • 0.75 cup packed brown sugar
  • 0.75 cup white sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 8 (1.5 ounce) bars milk chocolate candy bar (such as Hershey's®)
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) and butter a 9x13-inch baking pan.
  • Combine the flour, salt, and baking soda in a bowl.
  • Using an electric mixer, combine butter, brown sugar, white sugar, and vanilla until smooth. Add eggs one at a time. Slowly incorporate the flour mixture. Press half of the dough into the prepared pan.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 10 minutes until partially firm, and keep the oven on.
  • Layer the partially baked dough with chocolate bars, breaking them up if necessary to fit, then evenly distribute the remaining dough over the chocolate.
  • Bake until beautifully golden brown, for another 10 to 15 minutes. Allow to cool before slicing into 24 delicious bars.
