Upgrade your mocktail game with a zesty twist: Add fermented ginger beer to spiced cranberry shrub for a memorable non-alcoholic Moscow mule.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup white vinegar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup fresh cranberries
  • 2 pods cardamom, crushed
  • 4 whole allspice berries, cracked
  • 0.25 (1 inch) piece cinnamon stick
  • ice cubes
  • 8 fluid ounces ginger beer (such as Fentimans)
  • 2 fluid ounces club soda
Instructions:
  • In a saucepan, mix vinegar, water, and sugar over medium-high heat. Add cranberries, cardamom pods, allspice berries, and a cinnamon stick; bring to a boil. Cover and simmer until cranberries start to pop, around 5 to 10 minutes. Stir occasionally to prevent splattering. Lower the heat and simmer until sugar dissolves and cranberries release their juice, about 10 minutes.
  • Allow the mixture to steep off the heat for 15 minutes before straining it into a container. Seal tightly, refrigerate, and discard the pulp.
  • Fill 2 highball glasses halfway with ice. Pour 1 fluid ounce cranberry shrub, 4 fluid ounces ginger beer, and 1 fluid ounce club soda into each glass. Stir thoroughly.
