Savory cornbread stuffing with sausage and oysters.
Ingredients:
  • 1.5 cups turkey broth
  • 0.25 cup margarine
  • 1 (6 ounce) package corn bread stuffing mix
  • 1 pound bulk pork sausage
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 pint shucked oysters, drained, or more if desired
  • 1 turkey giblets, cooked and chopped
  • 1 teaspoon poultry seasoning
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and generously grease a 9x9-inch baking dish.
  • In a saucepan over medium heat, bring the turkey broth to a boil. Melt the margarine in the broth, then stir in the stuffing mix. Transfer the mixture to a large bowl and combine with pork sausage, ground beef, onion, egg, oysters, turkey giblets, poultry seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Spoon the oyster stuffing into a baking dish and cover with foil before baking.
  • Roast in the preheated oven until the sausage and ground beef are fully cooked and the stuffing is crispy and golden brown, approximately 1 hour.
