Ingredients:
  • 1 box Betty Crocker™ Super Moist™ White Cake Mix
  • Water, vegetable oil and whole eggs called for on cake mix box
  • 2 tablespoons red, green and white candy sprinkles from 1 container (6 oz) Betty Crocker™ 6-Cell Christmas Mix Sprinkles
  • 2 1/2 cups from 2 tubs (16 oz) Betty Crocker™ Rich & Creamy Vanilla Frosting
  • Betty Crocker™ Green Gel Food Color
  • 2 teaspoons from 1 container (2.5 oz) Betty Crocker™ White Shimmer Sugar
  • 2 Junior® Mints Creamy Mints in Pure Chocolate
  • 1 large orange gumdrop
  • 1 large marshmallow
  • 1 tube (0.67 oz) Betty Crocker™ Black Writing Gel
  • 2 tablespoons red, green and white holiday confetti sequins from 1 container (6 oz) Betty Crocker™ 6-Cell Christmas Mix Sprinkles
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 350°F (325°F for dark or nonstick pans) and generously coat 2 (8-inch) round cake pans with cooking spray.
  • In a spacious bowl, use an electric mixer on medium speed to blend together cake mix, water, oil, and eggs for 2 minutes, ensuring to scrape the bowl occasionally. Add 2 tablespoons of festive red, green, and white candy sprinkles. Distribute the batter evenly between the pans.
  • Bake for 29 to 34 minutes until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Allow the cakes to cool for 10 minutes, then gently loosen the edges with a metal spatula and transfer them to a cooling rack. Let the cakes cool completely for about 1 hour before trimming off any rounded tops if needed.
  • Place the first cake layer on a serving plate, with the bottom side facing down. Spread a generous 2/3 cup of frosting on top, then gently place the second cake layer on top. Coat the top and sides of the cake with a delicate layer of frosting for a crumb coat. Chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes to set before serving.
  • Place 3 tablespoons of frosting in a small bowl and mix in food color until you reach your desired color. Prepare a decorating bag with a 1/2-inch star piping tip and fill it with 1/4 cup of untinted frosting. Set aside the green frosting and the filled decorating bag.
  • Take the cake out of the refrigerator and use the remaining 1 cup of untinted frosting to spread it around the sides and two-thirds of the top of the cake. Finally, sprinkle sugar over the frosted top, using a photo as a reference if needed.
  • To decorate the snowman's face: Spread green frosting on the top third of the cake for the hat. Pipe a brim using a decorating bag. Add 2 candies for the eyes and place a gumdrop as the nose at the center of the cake. Place a slightly flattened marshmallow at the top of the cake for the pom pom. Create a half-circle smile under the nose using writing gel, referring to the photo for guidance.
  • Decorate the bottom edge of the cake with red, green, and white holiday confetti sequins. Sprinkle the remaining sequins on the brim of the hat.
  • Allow the dish to sit uncovered at room temperature.
