Get the kids involved in the kitchen with these festive Holiday Sugar Cookie Cups made with Betty Crocker™ Sugar Cookie Mix. Top with rich & creamy frosting for a classic holiday treat the whole family will love.
Ingredients:
  • 1 pouch (17.5 oz) Betty Crocker™ Sugar Cookie Mix
  • Butter and egg called for on cookie mix pouch for drop cookies
  • 1/4 cup plus 2 teaspoons red, green and white candy sprinkles
  • 1 tub (16 oz) Betty Crocker™ Rich & Creamy Vanilla Frosting
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons Betty Crocker™ red gel food color
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 375°F and generously coat 36 mini muffin cups with cooking spray.
  • Combine cookie mix, softened butter, and egg in a large bowl until a soft dough forms. Mix in 1/4 cup of candy sprinkles. Shape the dough into 36 (1 1/4-inch) balls and place them in mini muffin cups. Use the end of a wooden spoon to create an indentation in the center of each ball.
  • Bake for 8 to 10 minutes until lightly golden. Use the end of a clean wooden spoon to create a 1-inch opening in the center of each cookie while they're still warm. Let them cool in the pan for 20 minutes, then transfer to a cooling rack. If needed, gently loosen edges with a small knife. Allow to cool completely for at least 30 minutes.
  • Add red food coloring to half of the frosting in a small bowl. Prepare a piping bag with a medium star tip and place it on its side. Spread the remaining vanilla frosting on one side of the piping bag and layer the red frosting on top. Fill each cookie cup with about 2 heaping teaspoons of the frosting mixture using the piping bag. Finish by sprinkling 2 teaspoons of sprinkles on top. Store the treats loosely covered at room temperature.
