Elevate holiday sugar cookies with a creative twist!
Ingredients:
  • 1 pouch (17.5 oz) Betty Crocker™ Sugar Cookie Mix
  • Flour, butter and egg called for on cookie mix pouch for cutout cookies
  • Betty Crocker™ green and red gel food colors
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 375°F.
  • Combine cookie mix, flour, butter, and egg in a large bowl until a soft dough forms. Divide the dough into 3 pieces, placing 2 pieces in separate small bowls. Stir in green food coloring to one bowl and red food coloring to the other.
  • Overlap scant tablespoons of each dough on a floured surface to create a large rectangle, ensuring the pieces touch one another.
  • Shape the dough into a 6x5-inch rectangle by pushing it toward the center on all sides. Roll the dough out to 1/4 inch thickness to create a marbled pattern. Use 3-inch cookie cutters to cut out shapes. Lightly coat the back of a cookie spatula with flour and slide it under the cutouts to transfer them to ungreased cookie sheets, placing them 2 inches apart. Combine any remaining scraps of dough, reroll on a floured surface, and create more cookies.
  • Bake for 6 to 8 minutes, or until the edges turn light golden brown. Allow to cool for 2 minutes, then transfer from the cookie sheets to a cooling rack. Let them cool completely for about 15 minutes.
