Impress with marbled Halloween sugar cookies! Easy to make and perfect for parties. Get creative with simple decorating technique. Perfect for spooky season fun! Let's bake and enjoy!
Ingredients:
  • 1 pouch (17.5 oz) Betty Crocker™ Sugar Cookie Mix
  • Flour, butter and egg called for on cookie mix pouch for cutout cookies
  • 1 1/2 cups from 1 tub (16 oz) Betty Crocker™ Rich & Creamy Vanilla Frosting
  • Betty Crocker™ Green and Purple Neon Gel Food Colors
  • 52 Betty Crocker™ Dessert Decorations Candy Eyeballs (from 0.88-oz package)
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 375°F. Combine cookie mix, flour, butter, and egg in a medium bowl, stirring until a soft dough forms. Divide the dough in half.
  • Roll out half of the dough on a floured surface to 1/4-inch thickness. Use a 4 1/2-inch x 1 3/4-inch bat-shaped cookie cutter to cut out shapes. Space the cutouts 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets. Repeat with the remaining dough as needed.
  • Bake for 7 to 10 minutes until the edges turn a light golden brown. Let them cool for 2 minutes, then transfer them from the cookie sheets to a cooling rack. Allow them to cool completely, approximately 30 minutes.
  • Next, with the remaining half of the cookie dough, follow the same process of rolling, cutting, baking, and rerolling using a 3 1/2-inch x 3-inch ghost-shaped cookie cutter.
  • Place 3/4 cup of frosting in each of 2 medium microwavable bowls. Microwave one bowl uncovered for 15 to 20 seconds or until it becomes warm and thinner in consistency. Stir until smooth. Add 2 to 4 small dots of neon green food color to the warmed frosting. Use a toothpick to create swirls by pulling it through the frosting several times.
  • 1. Dip the top of each bat-shaped cookie into the green-swirled glaze, allowing any extra glaze to drip off. Place the cookie right side up on a cooling rack set over a cookie sheet or waxed paper. Add candy eyeballs on top of the cookie. Reheat the glaze in the microwave as needed to keep it at the right consistency. Repeat the swirling and dipping process with the remaining 3/4 cup of glaze, using purple food color on ghost-shaped cookies.
  • Allow to sit for approximately 3 hours until firm. Store in a sealed container at room temperature with layers separated by waxed paper.
