Indulgent mac and cheese with a creamy cheddar and cream cheese sauce, a hint of Dijon, and crispy bread crumb topping.
Ingredients:
  • 7 ounces macaroni
  • 0.25 cup butter
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
  • 2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup dry bread crumbs
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) for the perfect cooking temperature.
  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook macaroni pasta until al dente, 8 to 10 minutes. Drain.
  • In a 3 quart saucepan over medium heat, melt butter. Stir in flour and cook for about 1 minute until smooth and bubbly. Add milk, cream cheese, salt, pepper, and Dijon mustard. Cook until sauce is thickened, then add cooked macaroni and Cheddar cheese.
  • Transfer the mixture into a 2-quart casserole dish. Combine bread crumbs, butter, and parsley in a small bowl, then sprinkle the mixture over the macaroni and cheese. Bake until golden brown and heated through, around 15 to 20 minutes.
