Elevate mac and cheese with creamy Alfredo sauce for a delicious twist, topped with crunchy crumbs.
Ingredients:
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vegetable oil
  • 2 (16 ounce) packages elbow macaroni
  • 2 (15 ounce) jars Alfredo sauce
  • 1 (1 pound) package processed cheese (such as Velveeta®), cubed
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 (16 ounce) package shredded sharp Cheddar cheese, divided
  • dry bread crumbs
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to a toasty 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and generously spray a 10 1/2 x 13 1/2-inch baking dish with cooking spray.
  • 1. Bring a generously sized pot of water to a boil, then add 1 teaspoon of salt and a splash of vegetable oil. 2. Slowly add the macaroni to the boiling water and cook for approximately 10 minutes until al dente, stirring occasionally. 3. Drain the macaroni thoroughly and transfer it to your baking dish.
  • In a 3-quart microwave-safe bowl, combine Alfredo sauce and processed cheese. Microwave on 60 percent power for 6 minutes. Stir in black pepper and paprika. Add shredded sharp Cheddar cheese and stir until melted and sauce is thick and smooth. Microwave for an additional 5 minutes on 60 percent power.
  • First, generously coat the macaroni with half of the creamy cheese sauce and mix it well. Next, pour in the rest of the cheese mixture and stir thoroughly. Spread the remaining sharp Cheddar cheese over the macaroni and top it off with breadcrumbs.
  • Cook the casserole in the preheated oven until it bubbles, which should take about 45 minutes to 1 hour. For a golden-brown top, broil the casserole under the oven's broiler for 3 to 4 minutes. Allow the macaroni and cheese to rest for 10 minutes before serving.
