Decadent chocolate cake suited for all occasions.
Ingredients:
  • 125g butter, softened
  • 161.25 gm caster sugar
  • 2 eggs, lightly beaten
  • 187.50 gm self-raising flour, sifted
  • 32.50 gm cocoa powder, sifted
  • 128.75 gm milk
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 180°C/160°C fan-forced. Grease a 7cm-deep, 20cm round cake pan and line the bases and sides with baking paper.
  • With an electric mixer, whip together butter and sugar until fluffy. Incorporate eggs one at a time, ensuring to beat well after each addition. Gently mix in flour, cocoa, and milk until fully combined.
  • Spread the mixture evenly in the prepared pan and bake for 1 hour and 10 minutes, or until a skewer inserted in the center comes out clean. Allow it to cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
