Decadent homemade chocolate cake.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 4 (1 ounce) squares unsweetened chocolate, chopped
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups white sugar
  • 0.5 teaspoon baking soda
  • 0.5 cup sour cream
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9-inch tube pan by greasing and flouring it. In a small saucepan, melt the butter, chocolate, and water together until smooth, stirring constantly. Allow the mixture to cool before using.
  • Combine the flour, sugar, and baking soda in a large bowl. In another bowl, lightly beat the egg and mix with sour cream and vanilla. Add this mixture to the flour blend. Pour in the cooled chocolate mix. Beat everything on low for 5 minutes until smooth and thick like heavy cream.
  • Transfer the batter into a greased 9 inch tube pan. Bake in the preheated oven for 45-60 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean. Allow it to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then invert onto a wire rack to cool completely.
