Whip up a creamy maple yogurt using an electric maker with milk, sugar, flavor, and yogurt cultures.
Ingredients:
  • 1 quart whole milk
  • 0.5 cup powdered milk
  • 0.25 cup white sugar
  • 2 tablespoons plain yogurt, at room temperature
  • 0.5 cup heavy whipping cream, at room temperature
  • 0.75 teaspoon maple flavored extract
Instructions:
  • In a small saucepan, warm milk over medium heat until it starts to bubble. Mix in powdered milk and sugar until fully dissolved. Take off the heat and allow it to cool until reaching 110°F (43°C) on an instant-read thermometer.
  • Place yogurt in a bowl and stir in a splash of warmed milk mixture until smooth. Pour the yogurt mixture back into the saucepan with the warmed milk, whisking constantly until fully incorporated. Mix in heavy cream and maple flavoring, stirring until well combined.
  • Divide the milk-cream mixture among 7 serving jars. Follow the yogurt maker's instructions and let it process for 8 hours. Refrigerate for a minimum of 3 hours before serving.
