Create delicious homemade sushi rolls with crab, avocado, cucumber, and pickled ginger or choose your own fillings.
Ingredients:
  • 1.333 cups water
  • 0.66666668653488 cup uncooked short-grain white rice
  • 3 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1.5 teaspoons salt
  • 4 sheets nori seaweed sheets
  • 0.5 pound imitation crabmeat, flaked
  • 1 avocado - peeled, pitted, and sliced
  • 0.5 cucumber, peeled, cut into small strips
  • 2 tablespoons pickled ginger
Instructions:
  • Collect all the ingredients needed for the recipe and preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C).
  • In a medium pot, watch water come to a lively boil. Add rice and stir gently. Lower the heat to medium-low, cover the pot, and let it simmer for 20 to 25 minutes until the rice is tender and has absorbed all the water.
  • In a small bowl, combine rice vinegar, sugar, and salt. Gently fold this flavorful mixture into the cooked rice in the pot and set aside.
  • Place nori sheets on a baking sheet.
  • Warm the nori in the preheated oven for 1 to 2 minutes until heated through.
  • Place 1 nori sheet on a bamboo sushi mat. Spread a thin layer of rice on top using wet hands. Line up 1/4 of the crabmeat, avocado, cucumber, and pickled ginger down the center of the rice.
  • Roll the mat tightly over the filling to create a perfect roll. Repeat the process with the remaining ingredients.
  • Slice each roll into 4 to 6 pieces using a wet, sharp knife.
