Get creative with homemade sushi rolls for a delicious and imperfectly perfect experience!
Ingredients:
  • 20.00 ml Japanese rice vinegar
  • 800.00 gm cooked medium grain brown rice
  • 6 nori sheets
  • 1 Lebanese cucumber
  • 1 large avocado, halved, stone removed, peeled
  • 3/4-1 tsp wasabi
  • 250g bean shoots
  • 180g seafood flakes, each flake halved diagonally
  • Tamari, to serve
Instructions:
  • Mix the vinegar with the rice and let it cool. Slice the nori sheets in half to create twelve 10cm x 18cm rectangles. Trim the cucumber, then cut it into twelve 1cm x 11cm sticks. Cut the avocado halves into slices.
  • Lay a nori rectangle, shiny side down, on a clean flat surface. Spread 1/3 cup of rice evenly over the nori, leaving a 2cm gap at the top. Add a line of wasabi across the center of the rice.
  • Lay a generous portion of bean sprouts on the rice. Arrange an avocado slice in the center of the sheet, next to the wasabi. Top with cucumber and 2 halves of seafood flakes.
  • Moisten the top 2cm of nori with water. Roll up the nori from the other end to seal the filling inside. Continue rolling the remaining ingredients to create a total of 12 rolls. Enjoy with tamari sauce for dipping.
