Honey Orange Ginger Cookies

Indulge in festive honey-orange-ginger cookies for Christmas delight.
Ingredients:
  • 2 1/4 cups Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon grated orange peel
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1 teaspoon orange extract
  • 1 egg
  • Additional sugar
Instructions:
  • Combine flour, orange peel, ginger, baking soda, and baking powder in a medium bowl; then set aside. In a large bowl, use an electric mixer to beat butter and 2/3 cup sugar until creamy. Mix in honey, orange extract, and egg until blended. Gradually add the flour mixture on low speed, mixing until just blended. Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes to 1 hour.
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F. Roll the dough into 1-inch balls and coat them with additional sugar. Place them 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets and gently flatten with the bottom of a drinking glass.
  • Bake for 8 to 10 minutes until lightly golden, then transfer to cooling racks.
