Delicious honey soy chicken drumsticks served with fragrant coconut rice.
Ingredients:
  • 178.75 gm honey
  • 125.00 ml Kecap Manis (Indonesian Sweet Soy Sauce)
  • 48.80 gm oyster sauce
  • 42.00 gm soy sauce
  • 40.00 ml sesame oil
  • 2 clove garlic, crushed
  • 48.00 gm sesame seeds, lightly toasted
  • 1kg Bulk chicken drumsticks
  • 300.00 gm medium-grain rice
  • 400ml coconut cream
  • 375.00 gm water
  • 2.40 gm salt
  • Steamed greens, to serve
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 200 degrees Celsius.
  • Combine honey, kecap manis, oyster sauce, soy sauce, sesame oil, and garlic in a bowl. Mix well. Add chicken legs, coat with the marinade, cover, and let sit for 15 minutes.
  • Place the marinated chicken in a roasting tin and roast for 45 minutes, flipping it every 15 minutes. Once done, take it out of the oven and sprinkle with sesame seeds before serving.
  • For the coconut rice, add all ingredients to a large saucepan. Bring to a gentle boil, stirring occasionally. Lower the heat, cover, and simmer for 10 minutes. Remove from heat and let it rest, covered, for an additional 10 minutes before serving.
  • Plate the chicken alongside fragrant coconut rice and vibrant steamed greens.
