Delicious honey soy wings - great for any occasion!
Ingredients:
  • 2 tsp kecap manis
  • 28.60 gm honey
  • 450g packet 2 1/2 minute microwave jasmine rice
  • 12.00 gm sesame seeds, toasted
  • 1 bunch pak choy, roughly chopped
  • 200g packet frozen shelled edamame
  • 3 green onions, thinly sliced
  • 65.63 gm salt-reduced soy sauce
  • 3 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 30.00 ml kecap manis
  • 89.38 gm honey
  • 1kg chicken wing nibbles
Instructions:
  • Prepare a delectable Honey Soy Marinade by combining soy sauce, garlic, kecap manis, and honey in a freezer-safe airtight container. Add chicken and toss until coated. Seal with the lid and refrigerate for 2 hours, or follow the note for further guidance.
  • Preheat the oven to 220C/200C fan-forced and line a baking tray with foil. Mix kecap manis and honey in a small bowl. Lay the chicken on the tray, skin-side up. Bake for 30-35 minutes, remembering to baste with the kecap manis and honey halfway through cooking.
  • While the rice is cooking according to the package instructions, place it in a spacious bowl and mix in 3⁄4 of the sesame seeds.
  • Blanch pak choy and edamame in boiling water until tender, then drain and place in a serving bowl. Mix in rice and most of the onion. Season with salt and pepper, and enjoy!
  • Heat the grill to high. Grill the chicken on a rotating tray for 4 to 5 minutes until golden, being mindful of the honey to prevent burning.
  • Top the wings with the leftover onion and sesame seeds before serving alongside a flavorful Asian greens rice.
