Elevate your holiday dinner with a sweet and savory pineapple ham glazed with strawberry, brown sugar, and mustard.
Ingredients:
  • 1 (12 pound) bone-in ham, or more to taste
  • 40 whole cloves
  • 1 (21 ounce) can strawberry pie filling
  • 0.66666668653488 cup brown sugar
  • 0.25 cup yellow mustard
  • 1 (8 ounce) can sliced pineapple, juice reserved, divided
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • toothpicks
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to a toasty 350 degrees F (175 degrees C), then gently pour 1 inch of water into a baking dish.
  • Lay the ham flat in the baking dish, score diagonal squares on top, and stud cloves into the scored sections.
  • Mix together the pie filling, brown sugar, and mustard in a bowl, gently mashing the strawberries as you combine the ingredients.
  • Combine 2 tablespoons of pineapple juice from the can with cornstarch in a separate bowl. Pour this mixture into the strawberries and stir until thick. Spread over the ham and drizzle the remaining pineapple juice on top without washing off the glaze. Cover the ham with foil to keep it moist.
  • Roast the ham in the preheated oven, brushing it occasionally with the flavorful juices, until a thermometer near the bone reads at least 130°F (54°C), for about 1 hour 45 minutes to 2 hours.
  • Position oven rack 6 inches from heat source and preheat broiler.
  • Skewer pineapple slices onto ham using toothpicks. Broil in the oven until lightly browned, approximately 10 minutes.
  • Take the ham out of the oven and allow it to rest for 15 minutes before slicing from the smallest end to the center.
