Indulge in a cozy and invigorating spicy drink that will warm you up completely!
Ingredients:
  • 6 x 7cm cinnamon sticks (see note)
  • 250ml (1 cup) dark rum
  • 1L (4 cups) apple cider
  • 32.00 gm brown sugar
  • 12 whole cloves
  • 6 x 1cm-wide strips orange rind, white pith removed
  • 30.00 gm unsalted butter
Instructions:
  • Distribute the cinnamon sticks and rum evenly into heatproof serving glasses or mugs.
  • In a large saucepan over medium heat, combine cider, sugar, cloves, and orange rind. Stir until sugar dissolves. Simmer mixture and then strain through a fine sieve into a heatproof jug, discarding cloves and orange rind.
  • Pour the cider mixture into the glasses and add a dollop of butter on top before serving.
